BRILLIANT DETROIT REPORTING is mostly about stuff I see on the 11 o'clock news in Detroit, CENTER OF THE MELTDOWN -- particularly on my favorite station, WXYZ (the local ABC affiliate). The Detroit media has kind of a genius for stories that are both horrific (lots of violence) and really trivial (why is this important exactly?). That and the fact that reporters here get NO respect and never seem to get anywhere near the newsmakers.
